The Second Sunday in Lent                                                                                              Feb 24th, 2002

Preude

*Call to Worship             Based on Psalm 103 and II Cor. 13
L: Bless the lord, O my soul. All that is within me, bless your holy name.
P: Make known the deeds of the Lord among the people. Sing to the Lord; tell of all God's wonderful works.
L: We praise you, Lord, for you are full of commpassion and mercy. You bring hope to all people.
P: Lord, show us your children who are hurting. Open our eyes to those who need a decent place to live.
L: Fill us with your Spirit that we can be your heard and hands to this world.
P: Give us the courage to do great things. Show us how we can offer ourselves to build shelter with those in need.
L: Remind us that we do not live to ourselves and we do not die i ourselves. Wer are what you made us; creations who do your good works.
P: Help us keep from growing weary of doing what is right. Help us work for the justice which all deserve.
ALL: May the grace of Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with all of us, Let us sing in praise of our God.

*Prayer of confession
       Loving God, Spirit of hope and of grace, your forgiveness is never far from our hearts. Hear our confession of sin
and mercy on us. 
       For our many refusals of our call, and for all of our forgotten promises, we ask that you forgive us. For the excuses we 
have fashioned to hid from our unfaithful lives, we ask that you forgive us.  For the readiness to blame others for the oppression
we cause in our daily lives, we ask for mercy and a change of heart.
       Lord God, turn our hearts around and guide us to the peace forgiveness brings. Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who
have sinned against us. Let this justice, truth, and mercy be ours. In the name of Jesus, the Christ, we pray. Amen.
